EUROPEAN UNION COMMISSION REGULATION (EC) NO. 2042/2003
is the base of Aviation Mantenance of a commercial airline. It consists of four annexes:
Annex I Part-M continuing airworthiness requirements
Annex II Part-145 approval of maintenance organisations – commercial air transport and large aircraft
Annex III Part-66 certifying staff – aircraft maintenance licence
Annex IIII Part-147 maintenance training organisation requirements


Categories of licences:

Category A ( Maintenance Certifying Mechanic): Basic A category License + Task Training for minor taks (tyre and brake change etc. and up to a weekly check) + Company Certification Authorization for specific Tasks,

Category B1  Maintenance Certifying Technician (Mechanical): Basic B1 category License + Type Training (i.e. Line & Base Maintenance per ATA 104 Level III) + Company Certification Authorization,  permits the holder to issue certificates of release to service (CRS) following maintenance on mechanical and minor avionics and electrical systems.
